Abstract
Sports nutrition plays a pivotal role in enhancing athletic
performance, supporting training adaptations, and promoting overall health.
With increasing scientific evidence supporting personalized nutrition
strategies, therapeutic approaches now incorporate macronutrient periodization,
targeted micronutrient supplementation, hydration management, and functional
foods to optimize performance and recovery. This review synthesizes current
knowledge on dietary interventions for athletes, focusing on energy balance,
nutrient timing, ergogenic aids, gut health, and recovery-oriented strategies.
The paper highlights evidence-based therapeutic practices that help athletes
achieve optimal performance while preventing fatigue, injury, and long-term
health issues.
